I am a University of Iowa student pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, with a 3.6 GPA and an expected graduation date of December 2026. My coursework includes algorithms, data structures, discrete structures, linear algebra, machine learning, computer organization, software development, and programming language design. I am comfortable helping students with Python, Java, introductory programming, debugging, data structures, discrete mathematics, and linear algebra.
My teaching experience includes training college-aged student employees through my role as an IT Specialties Lead with the University of Iowa. After identifying gaps in the onboarding process, I designed a standardized training program that helped new employees reach full productivity more quickly. This experience taught me how to divide technical material into manageable steps, recognize where someone is getting stuck, and adjust an explanation instead of simply repeating it.
I also completed a software engineering internship with U.S. Bank, where I migrated 18 application views to React and solved complex debugging and workflow problems. My personal projects include building a transformer language model from scratch in Python and developing a machine-learning statistical arbitrage system. During tutoring sessions, I begin by identifying the student’s current understanding, demonstrate the concept with a focused example, and then have the student apply it independently. My goal is to help students understand the reasoning behind a solution so they can confidently solve similar problems on their own.
