I’m Grant and I graduated from Miami University in Ohio in 2020 with a Bachelors Degree in Adolescent and Young Adult Education with a minor in History. My experiences teaching grades 6-12 has given me a unique perspective on what is required to achieve success both in the present and the future. I set my students up for success by guiding them to solutions using attention to detail, creative problem-solving, and by fostering trust in themselves to find the solutions given the resources on hand. I allow for space and time to achieve independently, using my experience to facilitate learning in a way that fits my students needs. I strive to provide the best possible opportunities for success by applying instructional practices that fit individual needs. I am passionate about providing the best opportunity for success that I can through careful preparation, open communication, and a willingness to go above and beyond to achieve the best possible outcome.
As mentioned above, I spent 4 years in education, both in the private and public sectors. I taught grades 6-12 in a variety of subjects, ranging from psychology and current events to content literacy and writing within a historical framework. My time across different subjects has given me the experience to adapt and provide the best possible education to students, regardless of content in both one on one and group settings. Additionally, I spent time as a coach at all the grade levels mentioned above, developing skills such as time and resource management to help student athletes succeed in life outside of school.
