About Evan

Bio

Hi, my name is Evan, and I’d love to help you out with computer aided design, or CAD. I’ve been using CAD software for the past eight years now—all throughout high school, throughout college, and in my day-to-day profession as an engineer. I hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Northwestern, and I’m also a certified SolidWorks professional.

I’ve been using CAD software for the past eight years now—all throughout high school, throughout college, and in my day-to-day profession as an engineer. I hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Northwestern, and I’m also a certified SolidWorks professional.

CAD is one of my favorite things to teach. At its core, it’s simple—just a series of individual steps that gradually build up to a finished part—but it’s the nuances that help save time, ensure your model can be changed in the future, and allow you to fully capture your design intent.

My goal is to help you understand the entire modeling process—the mechanics of the software, like which buttons to press and what they mean, but also the “why” behind each step, the motivation that influences the specific set of actions we take in order to make a part. I want you to walk away from these sessions with knowledge you can apply when you’re designing in the future. Because that knowledge is only useful if you can actually use it.

If you’re interested in my help, I would love to talk and learn about your situation and what you’d like to address. I’d welcome the opportunity to work with you.
