Tutor for Foundational Sciences & Pre-Med Applications

Hi, my name is Rushi! I have tutored pre-medical students in various topics in the foundational sciences such as microbiology, physiology, and pathology. I have also become skilled in my ability to apply foundational sciences to a clinical setting. I performed well on my NBME exams before sitting for my USMLE Step 1 exam. My scores were as follows: 66, 68, 71, 78, and 77 on Free 120, which resulted in a passing score on the real exam.

I am currently a third-year medical student at Des Moines University. I sat down for four medical school interviews, and I was accepted into all the schools I was interviewed at. I have strong insight into the medical school admissions process, and I have 2 years of experience helping students and peers with their application process. Of the students I have mentored, all of them have been accepted into an accredited MD or DO program within the U.S.

In my class at Des Moines University, I am ranked in the top quartile of my class. I have served several roles of a tutor for students in the past, including 4 years of experience tutoring pre-medical students in core sciences classes such as biology, chemistry, and anatomy as well as 1 year of experience tutoring other medical students in foundational science courses. I have tutored students in many settings, including 1 on 1 sessions as well as leading study groups. I am equipped with enough experience to tailor my tutoring sessions to students' preferences to optimize outcomes.

I really enjoy working with students and seeing the improvement they make over time. I have a passion for teaching and aim to integrate mentorship into my future practice as a physician. I am available mostly anytime throughout the week as well as willing to organize sessions on the weekends. I would prefer to do sessions on Zoom as the interactive platform allows me to mirror content from my iPad. I look forward to working with you!
