Hi, I'm Elizabeth! I hold a B.A. in Film and Media Studies from Washington University in St. Louis, a Master of Library and Information Science from Dominican University, and an MFA in Writing from Columbia College Chicago.

I have worked in education for my entire career that includes 13 years as a children's librarian and 5 years as a college writing instructor. I also have over a year of private tutoring experience helping students succeed in AP English Language and Literature, ACT English, Reading, and Writing, high school English courses, and middle school grammar and writing fundamentals.

I understand how important it is to find the right academic support. As both an educator and a parent, I know that every student learns differently and benefits from individualized guidance. As a tutor, I consider it an honor to work with each student and take that responsibility seriously.

My tutoring process begins with informal assessments so I can identify strengths, challenges, and learning goals. From there, I develop targeted strategies and interventions that help students improve their writing, strengthen reading comprehension, and build confidence in their academic skills. I provide support with coursework as well as AP and ACT test preparation. In that capacity, I work with students to develop test-day strategies that can improve their scores.

While my approach is rigorous and focused on measurable improvement, I also believe learning should be fun. I incorporate encouragement, humor, play, and relationship-building into sessions so students feel comfortable asking questions and taking academic risks.

My goal is to provide supportive, individualized tutoring that helps students develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed both in the classroom and beyond.
