I am an ordained rabbi, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. Serving in congregations in many communities over more than 40 years, I have taught all age students in Hebrew and other subjects. I am originally from Connecticut, but have worked in various places in the South and in the Northeast before moving to Aurora in 2016. I have been very active over the years in Interfaith activities cooperating with Christian and Muslim friends and occasionally people of other religions.
I have found that many folks from different backgrounds have an interest in reading the Bible in its original Hebrew and I have worked with them in learning to read the language and gradually develop skills in understanding the text. For those who would like to learn Modern Hebrew, I can help with that as well and would be glad work on reading skills in particular.
I have studied Hebrew since childhood and took it as my language requirement at the University of Pennsylvania. I also studied Biblical Aramaic as well. I have lived in Israel for two academic years while in college and in Seminary. Over the years as a scholar of the Bible and rabbinic works, I have continued to build my vocabulary and facility with the language.
Feel free to contact me. My schedule is somewhat flexible and I would be glad to create a course to meet your needs.
