What can you do when meeting with me? Every meeting, we will set clear goals for how you want to grow, practice strategies to help you reach those goals, try them out with immediate feedback, and apply them to your projects. Regular meetings include tracking your progress and looking ahead to long-term goals. So wherever you are in your confidence level and writing journey, I would love to help you reach the next step.
I grew up in Northern Missouri, among the cascading foothills of Thousand Hills State Park. They provoked a lifelong obsession with nature writing, which in turn grew into love for memoirs, essays, creative non-fiction, literature of all stripes, and rhetoric. Since then, I earned my Bachelor’s in English at the University of Southern Indiana, my Master’s at Southern Illinois, and my Ph.D. at Wisconsin-Madison. Both of my graduate degrees specialized in teaching writing, rhetoric, and literature. Though I have been teaching for over two decades now, connecting with new students becomes an ever-increasing joy. I love becoming a small part of someone’s journey to new triumphs, and I would love to see what I can do for you.
