I’m a certified English Language Arts teacher with over 20 years of experience teaching students in grades 6–8. I hold a Master of Arts in Elementary Education and am currently earning a second master’s degree in Reading Instruction to become a certified reading specialist. Additionally, I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from the University of Illinois. Over the years, I’ve helped a wide range of learners build confidence and skills in reading, writing, grammar, and test prep—including the HSPT. I’m especially experienced in teaching grammar at the middle school level in a way that makes it clear, practical, and connected to real writing. Whether students are working on sentence structure, punctuation, or word choice, I help them understand how grammar supports strong communication.
In addition to middle school tutoring, I also work with elementary students in all core subjects, including reading, writing, and math. My approach with younger learners is patient, supportive, and hands-on, with lots of encouragement along the way. I know how to meet students where they are and guide them toward independence at their own pace. Whether your child needs a little extra support, a structured review, or a challenge beyond the classroom, I tailor each session to their unique needs. My goal is always to help students feel confident, capable, and proud of their progress.
