My name is Jacob, and I am a father of 2 wonderful boys. I graduated from Northern Illinois in 2018. I have been working as a Software Engineer for over 7 years across many industries. During my final semester before graduating, I started as an intern and worked part time as a developer.
I have always enjoyed teaching and helping others learn. My passion for tutoring and helping others started when I was younger. I was always the go to person when it came to helping my siblings and my peers with homework and class work. At NIU, I was a peer tutor for 2 years. Now I love helping my boys when it comes to learning, and I even serve as a mentor in my place of work.
As a tutor, I plan to make learning hands on, engaging, and personalized. My teaching style has developed over the years to focus on encouraging the learner to gain a deeper understanding of topics and content material as well as fostering a genuine curiosity for learning more. I’m committed to making learning both interesting and accessible, and it’s my mission to adapt my approach to meet each student’s unique learning needs because each person is different.
I strive to create a safe and supportive learning environment where students feel confident and motivated. I tailor my teaching style to meet learners where they are, and I encourage every new student to sign up for a free consultation to discuss your goals and see if we’re a good fit.
