I graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in mathematics, having also completed extensive graduate-level coursework in areas like algebraic topology and geometry. My academic background goes well beyond standard coursework — I conducted undergraduate research on topics ranging from superalgebras to knot theory, working closely with faculty mentors and using computational tools alongside pure math theory. This means I don't just know the material, I understand how it connects to more advanced ideas, which helps me explain concepts in multiple ways until something clicks for a student.

My tutoring experience started in high school, where I was a peer tutor hosting group and one-on-one sessions in algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, calculus, Java, and Python. I focused on walking students through the specific points where they got stuck, rather than just re-explaining a topic from scratch, and I adjusted my approach based on whether a student needed conceptual grounding or exam-specific strategy. I later served as president of a math research organization at UIUC, where I regularly explained technical material to students with a wide range of backgrounds and comfort levels with math.

I work well with middle and high school students who are struggling with a specific class as well as students aiming for more advanced material like calculus or competition math. My sessions are patient and structured: I like to start by figuring out exactly where a student's understanding breaks down, then build from there with problems that target that gap directly. I'm equally comfortable helping with day-to-day homework, longer-term exam prep, or building genuine confidence in a subject a student has come to dread.
