Local, coming from the Chicagoland suburbs, Marissa is a passionate flute player and teacher. She spends her time playing in small ensembles which have performed for the Chicago Flute Club and the Northeastern Illinois University’s Chamber Group Competition.

She began playing the flute in 1st grade and is currently under the instruction of Lyon Leifer at Northeastern Illinois University. She is completing her Bachelors in Flute Performance this Spring! Marissa also studies with Hideko Amano and has been a part of various masterclasses and group ensembles. She performs locally at churches, weddings and other community events.
Marissa has experience teaching a wide variety of ages and enjoys instructing group lessons as well. She takes delight in sharing her love of music with her students!
Marissa loves to share her knowledge of music with her students. She is sure that every subject is covered, whether it be fundamentals, group ensembles, solo work, etudes, as well as going over any basics needed.
Marissa is patient, kind, and understanding, which helps students with their confidence in their playing, as well as reach their goals.
