Hi! I earned a Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering from Iowa State University, where my coursework included calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, general chemistry, classical physics, and physics laboratory work. I earned an A in college classical physics and its lab and an A in General Chemistry for Engineers. I also earned A grades in math, chemistry, and physics during high school. This background has prepared me to help students with middle-school and high-school math, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, precalculus, introductory college calculus, general chemistry, and high-school physics.
For more than a full school year, I worked one-on-one with college students through Knack, tutoring math, chemistry, and physics. My sessions received five-star ratings, and every student I tutored returned for at least one additional session. I helped students work through homework, prepare for exams, review concepts they had missed, and become more comfortable solving problems independently. That experience taught me to adjust my explanations to the individual student instead of repeating the same explanation when it is not connecting.
I keep sessions relaxed, practical, and focused on the student’s goals. We begin by finding the exact point where the material becomes confusing, work through an example together, and then have the student try a similar problem with my guidance. I explain why each step works and point out common mistakes, confusing wording, and patterns that often appear on tests. My goal is for students to leave each session understanding both the current problem and how to approach the next one on their own. I am available for online and in-person tutoring.

Approved Subjects

ACT Math

ACT Math

I earned a Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering from Iowa State University, with extensive coursework involving mathematics and technical problem-solving. I also worked one-on-one with college students as a peer tutor through Knack. For ACT Math, I help students identify weak areas, learn efficient solution methods, and recognize common question patterns and traps. Sessions can include targeted review, timed practice, and clear explanations designed to improve both accuracy and confidence.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I earned a Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering from Iowa State University, where advanced math and technical problem-solving were central to my coursework. I also worked one-on-one with college students as a peer tutor through Knack. I can help students understand equations, inequalities, functions, polynomials, logarithms, systems of equations, and other Algebra 2 topics. I explain each concept clearly, work through an example, and then guide students as they solve similar problems independently.
Chemistry

Chemistry

I earned an A in college-level general chemistry and have tutored other college students in the subject one-on-one. I can help with atomic structure, chemical bonding, balancing reactions, mole conversions, stoichiometry, gas laws, solutions, molarity, dilutions, acids, bases, and pH. I focus on showing how the concepts connect instead of asking students to memorize disconnected formulas. We work through an example together before the student tries a similar problem independently, with special attention to common mistakes that appear on tests.
Physics

Physics

I completed college-level physics coursework as part of my technical education and am comfortable tutoring high-school and introductory algebra-based physics. I can help with kinematics, vectors, Newton’s laws, forces, work and energy, momentum, waves, and basic electricity. I show students how to turn word problems into diagrams and equations while explaining why each formula applies. We work through an example together before the student practices solving a similar problem independently.
Precalculus

Precalculus

I completed college mathematics through calculus and differential equations while earning my Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering. I can help with functions and transformations, polynomial and rational expressions, exponential and logarithmic functions, trigonometry, the unit circle, sequences, and other precalculus topics. I focus on connecting new material to the algebra students already know and explaining why each method works. We practice identifying problem types, avoiding common mistakes, and solving problems independently.
