An engineer with experience and passion teaching math

I am a software engineering senior architect by trade working closely with many people and clients on a daily basis. Part of my work includes guiding clients to success as well as mentoring team members and other engineers.

I graduated from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor's in Computer Engineering and from Rice University with a Master's in Computer Science specializing in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics. In my time as a graduate student, I've also published my research in the field.

I have tutored students in the past while studying in school. It started as helping out a family friend, but I soon realized I enjoyed teaching and mentoring others. Students I taught in the past ranged from 6 to 14 years old and have gone on to be successful Engineers, Dentists, Doctors, and more as adults. It brings me great joy to see my students succeed and reach their goals. As I entered a more rigorous phase of study in my own academic and career path, I shifted my focus away from tutoring students. But, my desire to mentor others remained. I worked as a Teaching Assistant in both undergraduate and graduate schools. In my job today, I mentor others helping them grow in their careers and achieve their career goals whether that be promotions or increased knowledge and expertise in engineering.

I'm excited to revisit my old passion of tutoring at this stage in my life. Fundamental knowledge of Math at a young age is very important and leads to improved critical thinking and logic skills. These are skills that will follow someone for a lifetime and don't only apply to STEM fields. To the kids, I hope to be able to help you get a better understanding of Math and maybe even enjoy it! To the parents, I hope to collaborate with you in guiding your children to a brighter future.
