I have worked with children for 22 years in Early Childhood Education. I have taught the children social/emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development. I also have taught the children by providing a safe environment to prevent and reduce injuries. I promote good health and nutrition and I help to provide an environment that does not contribute to or cause illness. I use space, materials, and routines as resources for construction an interesting and enjoyable environment that encourage exploration and learning. I provide a variety of appropriate equiptment, activities, and opportunities to promote the physical development of the children. I provide activities and experiences that develope questioning, probing, creativity, exploration, problem-solving appropriate to the developmental levels and learning styles of children. I provide opportunities for children to understand, acquire, and use verbal and non-verbal means of communicating thoughts and feelings. I provide experiences that stimulate children to explore and express their creative abilities. I also help each child to know, accept, and take pride in herself or himself and to develop a sense of independence. I help children to get along with others and encourage feelings of empathy and mutual respect among children and adults. I provide an environmeent in which children can learn and practice behaviors which are appropriate and accessible individually and in a group. I maintain an open, friendly, and informative relationship with each child's family and encourages their involvment in the program or place that I am teaching. I use all available resources to ensure effective operation, and I am a competent organizer, planner, and record keeper. I seek out and take advantage of opportunities to improve his/her competence, both for professional growth and for the benefit of children and families.
I also want to express that I am a mother of a child with Autism, and I am capable of helping any children who have Autism. I have took college courses
