Hi! I’m Riley and I am a current student at BYUI studying social studies for secondary education with an emphasis in history. It’s a mouthful of a way to say I want to be a history teacher. I have a passion for history that was furthered from my travels around the world. I am able to speak English and Italian. I am learning to teach not only history, but all of the social sciences. I also received high marks in my secondary schooling for English, drama, and lower level classes in physics, biology, chemistry, mathematics, and speech. I have a passion for learning and I want to help others find their passion in whatever subject that may be. I want to help people become more confident in their abilities to learn, remember, and recall and not just memorize for a test.
I have not only studied history, but I have travelled to many of the places I have read about and been able to live with the people. I received a 5 in AP US History and a 100% in CC US Government. I had high grades in my college history classes. I tutored my peers in those classes and have helped my siblings and cousins as they have gone into the various history and government classes. I have had practice in teach many different kinds of learners.
I want to help you or your child learn in a way that’s going to work best for you and you to best succeed. I hope to help you see the beauty in each subject and can find a bit of yourself in it.
