Hi, I’m David! I recently graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Biochemistry and a minor in Spanish, and I’ll be starting dental school soon. Throughout my undergraduate experience, I discovered a real passion for teaching while working as both a tutor and a teaching assistant. Over that time, I’ve had the opportunity to help more than 500 students across a wide range of subjects, including General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Anatomy & Physiology, Calculus, and Spanish. Working with students at different levels has helped me become adaptable in how I explain concepts and connect with different learning styles.

My approach to tutoring centers on making complex material feel simple and intuitive. I believe students learn best when they actively engage with the material, so I focus on breaking topics down step-by-step, using analogies, and guiding students through problems rather than just showing solutions. Whether we’re working through a difficult chemistry mechanism or building confidence in conversational Spanish, I aim to create an interactive and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I also tailor each session to the individual—whether that means focusing on exam preparation, homework help, or building long-term study strategies.

Ultimately, my goal is not just to help students improve their grades, but to help them become more confident and independent learners. I take pride in being patient, encouraging, and genuinely invested in each student’s success.
