Hyrum asked for my chess.com profile and reviewed my games prior to our meeting to come up with a custom study plan for me. During our lesson, he taught me the 10 Principles of Chess, move order in chess, and the most common puzzles to work on. I really felt my understanding my of the game was significantly improved immediately after my first lesson. I am usually the kid in class who always asks too many questions but I literally had none during our first session because Hyrum was so thorough and prepared. This was exactly what I was hoping for in a chess tutor.

THE BEST TUTOR
I've been mentored by Hyrum for over a year, and have just had my first lesson through Wyzant. I started off last year as a 400 ELO and in that time I have jumped to 1200 ELO!! Its been so AWESOME! He's not just a chess wiz, but also such a great tutor. He showed me how to find different tactics, and taught in a way that I was able to pick it up really quickly.
