I taught in a language intensive program for students with special needs including autism. I worked as a Para-Professional Educator in a behavioral classroom with up to ten students of varying grades. I assisted in their academics as well as with difficult behaviors. Many of the students come from troubled homes, making it difficult for them to learn and be included in an inclusive classroom. We refocus inappropriate behaviors and reward positive behaviors. I worked as a Job Coach in the Pathways Department. Pathways is the first of three individualized services designed to assist individuals with Developmental Disabilities in community competitive employment. As a Job Coach I had a caseload up to eight individuals, for whom I was responsible. I kept progress records for the state of Washington. My job included developing strategies and teaching methods to best accommodate each person’s abilities. Part of our training at Skils’Kin was to learn how to adapt to individuals who are Developmentally Disabled and are in Community Custody. As a Program Monitor, I maintained accurate records of all activities during my shift that pertained to transportation, school, jobs, visitation and med distribution. I assisted with the preparation of food and the daily upkeep of kitchen inventories, and maintained the rules of conduct per Juvenile Rehabilitation Administration. ASL Interpreter, Para-Professional Educator I worked as a Para-Professional Educator and an American Sign Language Interpreter, using American Sign Language to facilitate communication between hearing and deaf/hard of hearing students and instructors. Part of my job assignment was helping hearing students with classroom assignments, administering tests, and assisting teachers with record-keeping, copying, filing, correcting class work, and implementing various classroom activities. In addition I have had many years of customer service experience working as a waitress and retail sales associate. I have worked for a Dealers’ Auto Auction for four years as
