Exceptional tutor — prepared, patient, and genuinely invested
Joy has been outstanding. She is extremely patient, friendly, and clearly very sharp, but what has impressed me most is how seriously she has taken my goal. I am preparing for UC San Diego’s Math Placement Exam on a very short timeline, and before our sessions she actually took the relevant UCSD practice exams herself so she could understand exactly what I would be facing. She arrived prepared, quickly identified the foundational areas I needed to strengthen, and gave me targeted practice instead of wasting time on generic review. She explains concepts clearly, never makes me feel rushed or embarrassed about being rusty, and is very good at adjusting the pace based on what I understand. I walked away from our first session feeling far more confident about a challenge that had honestly felt overwhelming beforehand. I would recommend Joy without hesitation to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, thoughtful, and genuinely invested math tutor.
