If any of these apply to you, I can help. My name is Matthew F., and I am a French and Spanish instructor at NNU. I am a teacher at a local high school as well, where I teach French at an International Baccalaureate School.

I have 20 years of teaching experience - with students aged 4 - 74 - and 16 years living abroad. I'm flexible, honest, patient, but also challenging. I love teaching, tutoring, learning, but most of all witnessing the "light bulb" moment. I also love traveling back home to France, where I was born and raised.

My Idaho State Board of Education teaching credentials include a mandatory Idaho Technology Competency Exam (passed in December of 2002). My master's degree I earned in Education (Curriculum and Instruction, in 2009; NNU). comprised 1 course focused on the use of technology in the classroom. I also drafted several terms papers for each course, including a 10-15 research papers that followed the APA format. I teach my students everyday through the use of technology. I create handouts for their learning and project my work on a school site (at the High School and the University where I teach). I use technology everyday in the classroom (presentations, handouts, spreadsheets). I have to renew my credentials every 5 years, and have done so twice since 2002.

Great tutor!

I highly recommend Matt. He has done wonders with our son! Our son was failing Spanish when we found Matt. Now, he has passed his first semester of Spanish and even received a "B" on his Spanish final! Matt is GREAT and he cares! Matt has a very effective teaching style which makes our son feel comfortable to learn and make mistakes, which I feel is VERY important! Our son always leaves his tutoring sessions with confidence and his head held high. After every session, Matt takes the time to write a thorough and honest review of how the session went and what materials were covered. And, Matt is very accommodating when it comes to meeting times and locations. There is no doubt... We picked the right tutor for our son! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Matthew (we call him Sr. Matthew) has been working with my 4.5 year old daughter for almost two years now. We were interested in her having some exposure to Spanish before she enters a Spanish immersion elementary. Sr. Matthew is knowledgeable and makes learning fun. He follows her lead and is very patient, which is a must for this age group. He has been very flexible regarding appointment times which we really appreciate. My daughter really looks forward to their visits.
