Bio

My love of teaching is built upon a love of learning. As a three-time Summa Cum Laude recipient (BA, MA and PhD) I am equipped to teach in Theology, Apologetics, Christian Classics and Worldviews. As a church organist over the past 20 years and pianist for over 35 I am fully equipped to teach and train, though I prefer to teach at the beginning level at any age.

Regarding teaching the Bible and Theology, I've been called the walking concordance. Actually, I just know the Bible and know how to teach it. I've served with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Mexico and Guatemala, helped my husband plant a church in Ghana and have completed my theological training earning a PhD in Theology and Apologetics.

Paramount in my mind is that the student enjoy the tutoring process because that enables them to retain what is taught.

As a published Author and oft-requested Public Speaker I am able to bring to the tutoring table experience that transcends merely book learning.

I have studied the Bible since 1986 and have served as a teacher and missionary since 1988. My education is in Theology and Biblical Studies. My BA is in Theology. My MA and PhD are in Theology. I have taught the Old Testament and New Testament to children as well as adults.
Piano

Piano

Trained for 5 years from 12 - 17 I learned to play the classics as well as contemporary pieces. Since the age of 20 I began playing the piano for church services as well as composing some pieces of my own. For the past 4 years I have been the organist and pianist at my church as well as created special arrangements for the holiday seasons.
Public Speaking

Public Speaking

In 1998 my husband and I began a women's outreach and so I began public speaking. Invited to various women's groups at churches and social gatherings I have enjoyed speaking to as many as 200 women at each session. Over the past 5 years I have spoken regarding the Christian Faith, Creation, the Resurrection as well as to women who suffer from depression and domestic violence. Currently, I am scheduled to speak in Michigan, Tennessee and Georgia as well as to a group of approx. 8,000 women for a denomination conference here in NYC.

Reading

Reading has been my passion since I was a child. As a student it is imperative that a love for reading be passed on to the next generation. Teaching people how to read will open them up to a whole new universe of fiction, history, non-fiction and so many other opportunities.

My major in college, in grad school and post-grad has been the Bible. I have taught the Bible in local churches since 1987 and now have completed all but the defense of my dissertation on Theology and the philosophical problem of pain.
