I am a student at the University of Idaho who is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance with a focus on Opera and Language Diction. I plan to continue my Bachelor’s at Boston University in 2027, and eventually pursue a Masters Degree in Vocal Performance and Education at the Juilliard School of Music in Manhattan. Seeing as my past tutoring has been extended to fellow teenagers and elementary students, my skills are best fit for tutoring individuals in that age range (specifically, ages 6 to 17).
Throughout high school, I was a tutor to my peers in the subjects of both English and Spanish; the high school I attended had a tutoring service for credit, so I spent many hours after school in the career center helping others understand the intricacies of symbolism and grammar in English literature, as well as the correct conjugations for the various Spanish tenses. I have taken many AP and accelerated classes for language, including Accelerated Freshman English, Accelerated Sophomore English, Junior AP English Composition, Senior AP English literature, and all of the Spanish Classes (Spanish 1-4 and AP Spanish) available through high school education. I have also succeeded highly in AP US History, a formidable class - considered one of the hardest high school liberal arts classes by College Board standards - that helped elevate my understanding of literature in a historical sense. I plan to continue my education in both English literature and Spanish as I study Vocal Performance and Language Diction as an undergraduate.
I grew up in a household where Spanish was expected to be my second language, and went to a Spanish immersion school - the International School of Tuscon in Arizona -for my early elemantary education. My Spanish background and heritage has allowed me understand both the practical use of Spanish in day-to-day conversation, as well as the importance of good grammar in scholarly writing.
