I lived in Portugal for over a year and I fell in love with Portuguese. I want to provide other people the opportunity to learn the basics so they can enjoy the language. I went to a training center and lived there for 6 weeks learning Portuguese. I spent more than 50 hours a week learning and studying Portuguese. After that, I headed off to Portugal and learned everything else. You learn much quicker when you are immersed in it. By my fourth month in Portugal, I was fluent and was able to hold conversations with both Portuguese and Brazilian people (even though their accents are very different). Once I became advanced enough, I started volunteering teaching Portuguese and English because I had then bridged the gap in between those two. By the end of my time in Portugal, I had trained several people and had taught many. I logged 400+ hours of Portuguese study for a whole year as well.
I just want people to have fun! I want them to know that learning a language doesn’t have to be hard! I learned quickly because in Portuguese there are patterns and I want others to have the chance that I had (but at a less expensive price). I love Portuguese so you can guarantee this is more of a hobby than work for me which will shine through my teaching.
