I am a 2100+ rated chess player with over ten years of experience teaching chess to students of all ages, from young beginners to serious adult improvers. I have won multiple blitz and rapid tournaments, and I have defeated titled players both over the board and online. My coaching experience includes one-on-one instruction with children, teens, and adults, helping beginners learn the fundamentals and more advanced students improve their rating, prepare for tournaments, and break through plateaus.

My teaching philosophy focuses on understanding core chess concepts rather than memorizing hundreds of lines of theory. Many students spend years trying to memorize openings without knowing why moves work. I teach the principles of openings, middlegame strategy, and endgames so students can think for themselves, reduce blunders, and improve much faster while saving hundreds—often thousands—of hours of inefficient study. This approach is especially effective for beginners, scholastic players, and adults who want lasting improvement.

Each student receives a personalized study plan tailored to their goals, whether that is learning chess from scratch, building strong fundamentals, improving online ratings, or preparing for tournaments. I update this plan during the week based on lesson progress. Students also receive access to my personal library of chess resources, including curated courses, instructional content I’ve created, and concept-based quizzes covering openings, middlegames, and endgames from beginner through advanced levels.

Outside of lessons, I provide ongoing support. Students can ask chess-related questions between sessions at no additional cost and join a private Discord community to learn alongside other students of similar level. I also organize online tournaments so students can practice competitively in a structured environment. I offer a free first lesson so we can assess your level, identify priorities, and build a clear plan for improvement.

I tutor chess for kids, teens, and adults at the beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. I help students who are new to chess learn the rules and fundamentals, as well as players who want to improve their rating, reduce blunders, and play with more confidence. I work with both casual players and competitive students, including scholastic players preparing for tournaments. My lessons focus on understanding chess concepts rather than memorizing opening lines. I teach opening principles, middlegame strategy, tactics, positional play, and endgame fundamentals in a clear, structured way. I regularly analyze students’ games to identify patterns and weaknesses, then build a training plan to address them. This approach helps students think independently, improve faster, and apply what they learn in real games. I have over ten years of experience providing one-on-one chess instruction in online and in-person settings. I work closely with parents and adult students to set clear goals, track progress, and adjust lessons as skills improve. Whether a student is learning chess for the first time or preparing for tournament play, I tailor each lesson to their level and learning style.
