My name is Rick, and I recently returned after a decade of teaching English as a Second
Language in Asia. I am back in America unexpectedly and looking for work as a substitute or an
entry-level administration while I am working on certifications and getting a license to teach full-time. With my age and experience, I would make a good advocate for the students and any
programs I might be invited to work on. I have a master’s degree in education: ESOL. I have
difficulty walking and need a modified car to drive. I'm seeking local work that I can reach by
bicycle.
I have 10-plus years of ESL teaching experience in overseas training centers and a little over 1
year of experience teaching US Common Core Social Studies, grades 1-3, through an online
school program that THT in Vietnam was associated with. I also taught Common Core ELA for
six months at the private school they were associated with. I also have a good technical/customer
service background from the time before I left to start teaching. I plan to obtain a reading
certification and become a reading coach, along with acquiring a social studies certification.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
