In following that path I have found a deep appreciation for having the opportunity to have made a living recording and performing music. I have been playing for over twenty-five years. I have received countless hours of private instruction since my teens, and have worked with top industry professionals for the entirety of my professional drumming career. For the ten years I lived in Los Angeles, I toured with national acts and recorded in a number of LA's recording studios before I settled down to start a family, and have been a teacher for just about twenty years. In addition to that, I worked for eight years in music retail, running the largest drum shop on the West Coast for two of them.
Remember that within the field of music, college or vocational credentials hold less weight. This is not because they are not useful or valid, but because the majority of professional musicians were taught privately through the same kind of one-on-one training that I offer to my students.
