I have over twenty years of playing and teaching experience, numerous studio album projects recorded, and have toured extensively with professional acts. In addition to my formalized education, I have a wealth of practical skills that inform my methods. These help to provide my students with both a strong technical education in musical form, combined with an approach that prepares them for real scenarios in professional settings.

My life as a drummer has been a hard fought path to pursue my passions and transform them into a sustainable career. In following that path I have found a deep appreciation for having the opportunity to have made a living recording and performing music. To share this joy with my students is a genuine pleasure and truly meaningful. Playing a role in inspiring the next generation of musicians is a fulfilling and rewarding process.

I have been playing for over twenty-five years. I have received countless hours of private instruction since my teens, and have worked with top industry professionals for the entirety of my professional drumming career. For the ten years I lived in Los Angeles, I toured with national acts and recorded in a number of LA's recording studios before I settled down to start a family, and have been a teacher for just about twenty years. In addition to that, I worked for eight years in music retail, running the largest drum shop on the West Coast for two of them.

Remember that within the field of music, college or vocational credentials hold less weight. This is not because they are not useful or valid, but because the majority of professional musicians were taught privately through the same kind of one-on-one training that I offer to my students. Experience and ability weigh in much more than degrees. There are many musicians that have degrees but have relatively little experience in the music industry. For contrast, I never sought a college degree, but beside the countless hours of private instruction I've received, I have spent years playing music professionally i
