I'm Sneha! I graduated with a B.S. in Neuroscience and double minors in Public Health and Political Science, and will enter medical school this fall.
I enjoy mentoring and getting students to fall in love with learning. I am willing to go the extra mile to find creative and engaging ways for students to digest difficult concepts. Building confidence in subjects requires sustained practice, so I encourage students to solve example problems with me before jumping into independent problem sets. I emphasize writing individual steps out for formulaic problems, showing students my thought process and helping them develop this good habit.
I have extensive experience tutoring students of all ages:
As a licensed childcare provider for children in K-6th grade, I made lesson plans and activities to help children learn subjects outside the classroom, adapting to each age group.
In college, I worked as a Teaching Assistant for Biology II. I spent time in the classroom, as well as one-on-one, helping students understand concepts and study strategies. I also founded Comets READ at my institution, where other students and I tutor English to low-income and refugee students at the elementary and high school levels. Currently, I am an MCAT tutor and guide pre-medical students with medical school applications.
Additionally, I have dedicated a lot of time serving children with special needs, attending Incredible Fridays at First McKinney Baptist Church.
Lastly, I have tutored students of all ages on Wyzant, from elementary math to college-level courses.
For all these experiences, I learned to change my approach according to the needs of students, offering resources across a variety of learning styles (auditory, visual, read/write, and kinesthetic).
I work with students and their needs; therefore, I welcome any resources or suggestions from students or parents. I am easy to reach and will do my best to reply promptly. Please contact me with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson!
