Everyone has a different learning style and I will work with you to find those approaches that will complement your personality. I also will share with you ways to help you memorize material. I have a large number of short videos and audio files that I will use to demonstrate different concepts. I use analogies/word pictures to help you understand the material better. I have written and graded many tests and I will discuss different approaches to test taking.
I know what it takes to be an excellent student, but it took a me little while. My undergraduate years were not 'spectacular'. I didn't know how to study, but somehow I made it through. When I started my graduate studies I was convinced that I could do better. I discovered that I was primarily a visual learner, but also kinesthetic. I learned how to read for content, to take notes and study for exams. I ended up getting 3 graduate degrees including a PhD., something I thought I would never attain, and teach at a major university. In addition to teaching content I know how to motivate students to do their best.
