Hi, I'm Bethany! I hold a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree and am a licensed physical therapist in the United States, with a strong academic foundation in anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and clinical sciences. My education and professional experience have equipped me to help students connect complex theoretical material with its practical applications in patient care. In addition to my clinical background, I have experience tutoring students preparing for anatomy and physiology courses as well as for the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE). I focus on simplifying challenging topics, using visuals, active recall strategies, and case-based examples to build confidence and long-term understanding.

Beyond physical therapy, I also hold a bachelor’s degree in music and have taught private music lessons to both kids and adults. This background has strengthened my ability to communicate concepts creatively and adapt lessons to each student’s learning style and pace. I have taught in one-on-one settings for several years, in person and online, with students ranging from middle school through graduate-level health programs.

My teaching approach across all subjects is patient, structured, and encouraging. Whether guiding a PT student through the musculoskeletal system, coaching NPTE test-takers on study strategies, or teaching music theory and performance, I aim to make learning engaging, clear, and relevant to each student’s goals and experiences.

Anatomy

Anatomy

I hold a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree and have extensive experience studying and teaching human anatomy. I have tutored students in both lecture and lab components of this topic, including teaching students how to identify things such as bony landmarks, muscles, and joint structures, as well as helping them understanding how these relate to movement and function. My approach focuses on using visuals, movement-based explanations, and practical examples to help students connect structure with function. I enjoy making anatomy engaging and accessible for students preparing for exams or clinical applications.
English

English

I have experience tutoring English to students from all over the world, including children, teens, and adults. As someone who has learned an additional language myself, I understand how challenging grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary can feel, and I teach in a way that is patient, clear, and relatable. My lessons focus on practical communication, building confidence, and strengthening comprehension through real conversation and personalized feedback. I enjoy helping students reach their goals, whether improving fluency, preparing for school or work, or feeling more natural in everyday English.
Music Theory

Music Theory

I hold a bachelor’s degree in music and have several years of experience teaching private music lessons to children and adults. I enjoy helping students build a solid understanding of music theory, sight reading, and ear training in a way that feels approachable and creative. My lessons often combine practical application with clear explanations of musical structure and harmony, making theory meaningful for both beginners and more advanced students.
Physiology

Physiology

With a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, I have a strong foundation in human physiology, including neuromuscular, cardiovascular, and musculoskeletal systems. I have guided college and graduate students through physiology coursework and clinical preparation, focusing on understanding how body systems interact. My tutoring method emphasizes simplifying complex processes through real-life examples and active recall strategies that promote real comprehension rather than memorization.
Study Skills

Study Skills

Through my background as both a physical therapist and educator, I have developed strong skills in helping students organize, retain, and apply complex information. I have coached students preparing for challenging exams, including anatomy, physiology, and the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE). My tutoring approach focuses on evidence-based study techniques, such as active recall, spaced repetition, and concept mapping in order to build confidence and effective long-term learning habits tailored to each student’s goals and learning style.
