My teaching practice, over 50 years in the making, guides students' learning from a known starting point and then measures success. This success is shown in the amount of knowledge and number of skills acquired with an optimum mastery goal of 90% or better recall and application.

My teaching practice, over 50 years in the making, guides students' learning from a known starting point and then measures success. This success is shown in the amount of knowledge and number of skills acquired with an optimum mastery goal of 90% or better recall and application.
However, learning is more than memorizing for a test, it rather demonstrates knowledge and skills in a manner that shows comprehension and creativity. My tutoring includes helping students create products that demonstrate those qualities.
Academic Learning is like weight-lifting. Not everyone wants to be a bodybuilder, yet literacy in any discipline requires a high standard of proficiency and performance, much like that of an athlete striving for national ranking or the Olympics.
I hold three Master's degrees: in Engineering, In Alternative Educational Methods, and in Business Administration. My undergraduate degree is a dual award in Agricultural Sciences and Mass Communications. I have worked with ages 18 months to 60+ years of age.
I have state Pre-K thru 12 certifications in General learning, English, Composite Sciences, Reading and Writing Literacy, and have worked with ESL students in engineering sciences and teacher preparation. My most recent in-class teaching was at the Secondary level. My most recent one-on-one tutoring was at the Elementary level. My most recent ESL small group tutoring was with working adults.
My first teaching job was in coaching water sports, including teaching deaf athletes. My 50 years of instructing and guiding learning, empowers me to provide a vast array of methods to assist in: memorizing, rapid recall, knowledge application, skills practice. and passing/crushing examinations.
