Hi, I’m Jackson. I’m a college student with over five years of experience tutoring math. I earned an Associate of Science degree from Kirkwood Community College in Computer Science and am currently pursuing my bachelor’s degree with a minor in math. Most of my experience has been working with K–12 students through Mathnasium in structured tutoring environments, though I now also tutor students in college-level coursework.
I tutor elementary math, middle school math, Algebra, Geometry, Precalculus, Calculus, SAT/ACT math prep, GED math, and introductory college-level courses. My teaching style focuses on conceptual understanding rather than memorization. I use guided problem-solving and direct instruction to help students understand why methods work, not just how to follow steps mechanically.
A large part of my experience has involved helping students who felt behind, frustrated, or intimidated by math. Because of that, I place strong emphasis on identifying foundational gaps early and adapting sessions to the student’s pace and learning style. I’ve helped students with homework support, exam preparation, summer review, and transitions into more advanced classes. My goal is always to create a supportive environment where students can steadily build confidence and become more independent problem-solvers over time.
I currently offer virtual tutoring as well as in-person tutoring when location permits, and I maintain a flexible schedule throughout the summer.
