Dear Student,
I have a strong academic background in geology and environmental sciences, having completed my Bachelor’s degree with Honors in Geology in India. During my three years of study, I received comprehensive training across all geology subjects, including mineralogy, petrology, structural geology, geomorphology, sedimentology, stratigraphy, paleontology, hydrogeology, environmental geology, and geophysics. This provided me with a strong foundation in Earth systems and how different geological and environmental processes interact. I later built on this knowledge through further academic and practical work in hydrology with a focus on groundwater systems and watershed-scale processes.
I have extensive teaching experience at the university level as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Iowa. I served as a Geoscience Teaching Assistant for multiple semesters. In Spring 2024 and Spring 2025, I taught Introduction to Environmental Science (4 s.h., class size: 72), where I conducted theory and lab sessions, graded assignments, held office hours, and helped students review material and resolve doubts. In Fall 2024, I worked as a Teaching Assistant for Hydrogeology (4 s.h., class size: 13), where I conducted lab classes and fieldwork, graded assignments, and supported students through office hours. In addition, I have volunteer teaching experience from 2020–2021 at Bibhuti Bhushan Shiksha Niketan in West Bengal, India, where I taught Class IV and Class V students (Grades 4 and 5) for one year in Mathematics, Geography, and English through online mode during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Alongside teaching, I worked as a Hydrogeologist/Engineer with Call & Nicholas in Tucson, Arizona, where I gained professional experience in groundwater and environmental projects. This combination of academic, teaching, and industry experience allows me to connect theoretical concepts with real-world applications. As a tutor, I focus on clear explanations, patience, and building strong conceptual understanding.
