I’m a writer, teacher, and Rhodes Scholar with degrees from Harvard and Oxford, and an MFA in Creative Writing from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, where I was an Iowa Arts Fellow. I’ve taught writing and literature at the university level in both the U.S. and Australia and have over a decade of experience helping students succeed in academic writing, creative expression, and the college admissions process.
My students have gone on to Columbia, UPenn/Wharton, Cambridge, Amherst, Berkeley (with merit scholarships), and Georgetown. I’ve worked with students across disciplines and ability levels, and I specialize in helping ambitious, thoughtful students refine their voice — whether for a personal statement, a college essay, or a high-level research paper.
I aim to create a space that’s rigorous, encouraging, and intellectually alive. I don’t offer quick fixes or formulaic templates — I work closely with each student to help them write and think with greater clarity, power, and confidence.
If you or your student is looking for tailored support in writing, reading, or application prep, I’d be glad to talk further.
