Hello, my name is Petros. I have earned a Masters with Distinction from California State University Northridge in Mathematics. I am a teacher, a tutor, and a mathematician. I am currently a graduate student in the Mathematics Ph.D. program at the University of Iowa.
I have professional training as a tutor by tutorial specialists and have been tutoring since 2017. I have taught precalculus, calculus, and mathematical ideas college courses for the past 3 years. I have an education and training that lets me bring an abundance of knowledge and experience to the table for anyone who needs help filling in the gaps or wants access to technical knowledge of abstract math. I can help with every topic in "pure math", specifically on the high school level: geometry, algebra, trigonometry, precalculus, and calculus and for the college level: algebra, calculus, differential equations, linear algebra, proofs and mathematical logic, analysis, topology, number theory, and anything higher for those up to the challenge.
I have helped students at the high school and college level with every level of mathematics. I work with everyone from ages 9 to 99, and I believe that math is for everyone. When tutoring I use the Socratic method and and aim to improve students metacognition. I'm happy to work with anyone where they are at; I prefer to work with students one-on-one so that I can take care and understand what each students individual needs are.
