I am an Orton-Gillingham-trained special education teacher with a Masters Degree in teaching. I have taught remedial reading and writing skills to students with varying abilities for 12 years. In my classroom and my private tutoring online, I have helped many students increase their reading fluency, comprehension scores, and confidence. I am an Orton-Gillingham-trained special education teacher with a Masters Degree in teaching. I have taught remedial reading and writing skills to students with varying abilities for 12 years. In my classroom and my private tutoring online, I have helped many students increase their reading fluency, comprehension scores, and confidence. I became a teacher so I could help all children reach their potential. I love to see students make progress!
In my 12 of teaching, I continued to see so many students struggle with reading that I decided to get trained in Orton-Gillingham. I spent 60 hours of coursework on the Orton Gillingham approach and 82 hours tutoring a supervised practicum from a fellow from the Orton Gillingham Academy. I have tutored 900+ hours on and off of Wyzant using OG. I love using Orton Gillingham and love seeing students succeed in reading! Orton-Gillingham focuses on multi-sensory techniques and spelling to support reading. These strategies are great for students with Dyslexia and reading difficulties. In my 12 years of teaching, nothing has worked better than the Orton-Gillingham method, and kids enjoy tutoring! I have seen tremendous growth in all the students I have tutored. I would love to help your child next! Since getting trained in Orton Gillingham. I am also finishing reading endorsements in K-12 this year and started my Dyslexia Specialist endorsement. Huge increase in daughter's reading scores

Nicole has been a fantastic tutor for my 3rd grade daughter. We've been in tutoring for about 5 months, and my daughter's NWEA MAP scores have increased by 28% (from spring 2023 as a 2nd grader to fall 2023 as a 3rd grader). Nicole keeps her engaged for a full hour and she is becoming a much more confident reader.
