Teaching Plan: One-on-One Tutoring for Advanced Math & Chemistry

Approach & Philosophy
I see tutoring as more than just going over class material because I strive to help students build confidence and develop the tools they need to tackle challenges—not just in one subject, but in how they learn as a whole. I focus on building understanding through steady support, patience, and clear communication. Rather than memorizing steps, we work together to figure out the “why” behind the concepts, so that they stick for the long run.

Subjects I Tutor
I specialize in tutoring high school students who are taking mainly these rigorous academic tracks: AP Chemistry, IB Chemistry HL, IB Math HL, AP Calculus AB & BC, Algebra 2, and Precalculus.

These classes are hard—and they're meant to be. My job is to meet each student exactly where they are and lead them forward with clarity and confidence.

Teaching Experience and Methodology

I have experience tutoring in the organization Reading Partners for two years and tutoring a multitude of students in Walnut High School in the subjects above for 2+ years as well.

One-on-One Personalization: I tailor each session to the student's learning style, current curriculum, and goals. We don't use a canned script—we map it out together. 

Concept Before Practice: I prioritize ensuring the why precedes the how. Once the concept is solid, we reinforce it with concrete practice problems.

Active Learning: I ask questions constantly—not to test, but to get them thinking. I have students explain their thinking, which builds mastery and confidence.
