I'm Tonya! My love for writing started at an early age with journaling. I learned real quick that the power of words and description was the one way that I could share what I thought when I wrote. As well as change one mind at a time through my power of persuasion. Writing came naturally throughout my life and I enjoyed many classes from elementary throughout my college career involving writing. I became aware quickly that in order to succeed with my writings I had to have a teacher that pushed me to produce differently than I had before and to think outside the box. Soon I became an edgy writer that did not conform to society's norm. I began my professional writing journey as a Junior in high school writing for our opinion column. This was the first time I was ever published and I couldn't get enough of the feeling that I got. Once I hit college I achieved the position of Student Ex Officio for the Board of Governor's and have written many persuasive pieces to entice running candidates to address issues that I felt necessary in society to acknowledge. This led myself working closely with political candidates writing a Medical Marijuana and Corrections Reform bill.
I have now become a Writing Tutor with 2 years experience of many writing skills such as Grammar, Punctuation, Imagery, Research and Description.
I enjoy focusing on enhancing students' writing skills across diverse genres and formats. Roles include in-person and online tutoring, delivering individualized coaching sessions, providing feedback on academic and professional writing projects and collaborating with teams to optimize tutoring methodologies.
