As a former elementary school teacher in New York City, I have had quite a bit of experience in instructing young learners. I taught in grades K-5, over a period of more than eleven years. I also completed some work toward a graduate degree in education. In addition, I have taught individuals of all ages in ESL (English as a Second Language), and in Bible-related subjects, particularly in church and home settings. My teaching experiences have been in a variety of locations, and in connection with a multi-ethnic grouping of students (ESL in Japan and to Russians in New York, for example). I tutored a fifth-grade student in math, and have assisted individuals in the editing of their graduate papers. My early love of reading, and my communication skills (written and oral) have enabled me to "connect" with a broad variety of people, and to assist others in communicating more effectively.
