I was the editor of my collages literary magazine call the Tenth Muse for two years. I helped plan, develop, and prepare the magazine for publishing. During the entirety of my senior year at Clarke, I tutored and mentored high school students at Senior High School in Dubuque, Iowa.
During my time at Senior, I loved the opportunity to build a rapport with students. The most rewarding part of tutoring and mentoring was watching the growth of many students throughout the year. Since graduating, I have been doing Case Management work with a non-profit organization.
Here is some additional information to help you know me a little better. I love to read everything from fiction to non-fiction to newspapers. I have experience with speaking in front of crowds and helping plan events. I love to travel and have been to many states from California to Florida. I have a background in working with diverse populations and am blessed to have learned so much both professionally and personally. I have been an animal lover my whole life. What brings the most wholeness to my life is helping others in need.
When I was younger, I was a shy and struggled to do speeches. Being comfortable with speech’s took me years and a couple of great teachers. Throughout college my English classes were full of speeches and over time I learned to love doing speeches and presentations. As an editor of my school magazine, every year I leaded a group of other students in executing a public release of our published literary magazine. I emceed two years in a row and loved the opportunity to write and present a speech.
English has been one of my passions for many years. I loved reading as a child and this love of reading followed me into my adult life and inspired me to get my degree in English during collage. I have experienced on areas of learning and understanding English. I
