I have worked with countless students with a diagnosis of ADHD. I have been able to develop IEPs specific to the student, create meaningful academic accommodations to help make learning more accessible, and have helped students diagnosed with ADHD reach academic success. I am trained in several curricula that directly support individuals with ADHD - reading and writing programs, math programs, and social skills programs. I am a current Elementary Special Education teacher.

Dyslexia

I am a special education teacher and have been working in the field for over 5 years. I am trained in various Orton Gillingham curricula, which studies show directly increases reading scores in individuals diagnosed with dyslexia. I have had several students with a diagnosis of dyslexia on my teaching roster and have experienced writing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for these students, worked on developing academic and behavioral accommodations and modification for these students to help learning be more accessible, and I have helped students reach academic goals.

I have instructed students K-5 for 4 years in the special education setting. I have been employed at the same district all four years and am qualified to teach reading, writing, and math with fidelity and integrity. I am trained in Orton-Gillingham reading programs, Number Worlds and other math curricular materials, as well as Spelling Mastery and other writing programs. I am well-trained in Common Core standards, implementation of grade-level material for students in Kindergarten-5th grade, and working with students with and without disabilities.

I'm glad she did better today! I do think a lot of it is too easy for her? It does build her confidence. It was interesting the things that she liked doing and those she didn't. Very kind, patient and helpful

Is currently helping my daughter learn letter sounds and have better phonemic awareness. My daughter liked her tutoring session with her very much. I would recommend Kayla as a tutor to other people.
