I have a BFA in painting and drawing and a Masters of Fine Art, with a mixed media concentration that included printmaking, sculpture, and video, from Hunter College in New York. While in graduate school I taught a course on time based media (book making, video, performance, sound art) to undergraduates at Parsons University. I also assisted teaching an undergraduate printmaking course at Hunter College. For the last two years I was a visiting artist at the School of Visual Arts where I met with students in their studios to coach them through their BFA thesis projects. With years of experience researching ideas and mastering materials, I advise students on how to technically master their chosen medium while providing them the resources to straighten their unique creative impulses and voice.
Along with teaching young adults, I have recently enjoyed giving private art lessons to children ages 4-10 years old. I love to familiarize myself with each child’s unique interests and needs to help them grow skills, confidence, and their joy of art.

Art Theory

Art Theory

With a Bachlors and Masters degree in Fine Art I am well versed in Aesthetic theory. I also have an innate interest in psychology, philosophy, and how these theories influence contemporary artists and marketing.
Drawing

Drawing

I have ten years experience as a practicing and exhibiting artist in NYC, a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Fine Art, and three years experience teaching and advising Undergraduates at The New School: Parsons and the School of Visual Arts. Although I utilize a variety of media in my own practice, drawing is the foundation that I always return to. All projects begin with drawing and some are resolved through it. It was, and is still, the first form of human mark making. It is a practice that anchors us in the reality of the physical world while enabling us to create our own virtual reality. Graphite, charcoal, pastels, intaglio, digital, ink, marker, etc… if there is a medium that inspires or eludes you I can help you to master it in your own style. As the most accessible way to practice freedom, I am eager to help you expand your experience of drawing.
