Hello! My name is Amy and I have been teaching high school science for 16 years. I graduated summa cum laude from St. Ambrose University with my Bachelor of Science in Biology Education and then with my Masters of Education in Teaching. I am also a National Board Certified teacher.
I am passionate about science education and I love my job. I have taught all levels of chemistry, including honors and AP Chemistry courses. As an educator, I work with students one-on-one to provide targeted interventions, and also so small and larger group instruction on a daily basis. I work with students of all backgrounds and ability levels, including students with learning disabilities, students who are English language learners, and talented and gifted students. I enjoying helping students to understand difficult concepts and watching them grow as learners. I am constantly trying new things and finding new ways to approach teaching.
I have lots of great strategies to use with students and I will take the time to get to know your learning style and preferences so that I can provide the best support for you. I look forward to the opportunity to help you achieve your goals in chemistry!
