Hi! I'm Josh! I started college not knowing what I wanted to do as a career other than work in a science field. During college, I had the opportunity to work as a counselor at a summer camp and learned that I easily connected with young adults. From there, I focused my college career on becoming a high school science teacher. I graduated with Bachelor degrees in chemistry and earth science education, and later went on to earn a Masters degree in educational practices.

I have 176 years of teaching and tutoring experience in chemistry, AP chemistry, AP environmental science, earth science, and physical science. I've worked one-on-one with students, in small groups, and as a traditional classroom teacher. I have differentiated my curriculum, instruction, and pace to meet the needs of learners of all ability levels. When I work with students, I also work to ensure a comfortable, open, and safe environment as trust and respect are essential parts of being able to learn.

While we work together, I work to ensure that difficult concepts are broken down into easy to understand pieces while building the overall picture as we go. Science can be used to explain so much of the world around us, and often the wonder of science is lost in the learning of science. When we work together, we will work to explain the concept and connect it to real-world phenomena to ensure a deeper understanding not just memorizing facts.
