I have been involved in education for approximately 15 years, with 10 of those years specifically dedicated to teaching social studies at the secondary level. I hold a degree in Bachelor of Arts in Social Science Education, and I am certified to teach social studies at the secondary level.
Throughout my teaching career, I have worked in various classroom settings, primarily teaching students in middle and high school. I use a combination of direct instruction, inquiry-based learning, and cooperative group work to engage students and help them develop a deep understanding of historical and social studies concepts. I also focus on critical thinking skills, encouraging students to analyze and question historical events and their relevance to today’s world.
While my formal teaching experience has been at the secondary level, I also have experience helping my own younger children with their education, providing me with a unique perspective on working with younger students and understanding their developmental needs. This hands-on experience has allowed me to further refine my teaching methods and adapt them to different age groups and learning styles.
I am passionate about helping students succeed and build confidence in their academic abilities, and I bring both a wealth of experience and a personalized approach to each tutoring session.
