I have an academic background in psychology, neuroscience, statistics, and physiology, with over five years of experience tutoring students in these subjects. During college, I worked as a statistics tutor through both the university tutoring department and the psychology/neuroscience department, and I regularly supported students in quantitatively challenging courses.

I work primarily with high school, college, and adult learners in one-on-one settings. I’ve worked extensively with neurodivergent students, including those with ADHD and ASD, and I tailor my approach to each student’s learning style. This often means breaking concepts down into clear steps, adjusting pacing, and using practical or visual examples to support understanding.

My approach is patient, collaborative, and focused on long-term understanding. I want students to leave sessions feeling clearer, more confident, and better prepared to move forward on their own.

Approved Subjects

Microsoft Excel

Microsoft Excel

I use Microsoft Excel regularly for organizing data and working through statistics and research projects, and I really enjoy helping students feel more comfortable with it. Excel can seem intimidating at first, especially when you’re trying to connect concepts to formulas — but once it’s broken down step-by-step, it starts to make a lot more sense. In tutoring, I focus on making things clear and manageable. We’ll walk through how to structure the spreadsheet, choose the right formulas, and understand why everything works — not just copy steps. My goal is for you to leave feeling confident using Excel on your own.
Neuroscience

Neuroscience

I have a strong academic background in neuroscience and psychology, including graduate-level coursework in neuropharmacology and the fundamentals of neurobiology. My training spans cognitive, behavioral, and physiological neuroscience, covering topics such as neuroanatomy, neural signaling, synaptic transmission, sensory and motor systems, and brain–behavior relationships. In addition to coursework, I have four years of research experience, including two years in neuroscience-focused research and two years in psychology research. This background allows me to help students understand not only what we know about the brain, but how that knowledge is generated and evaluated. For over five years, I have tutored neuroscience-related material at the high school and undergraduate level, supporting students with coursework, exam preparation, and concept integration. My tutoring approach emphasizes mechanistic understanding, clear use of scientific language, and connecting molecular, systems, and behavioral levels of analysis.
Statistics

Statistics

I have a strong background in psychology and research methods, and I’ve worked extensively with statistics in the social sciences. I genuinely enjoy helping students make sense of stats — especially when it feels confusing or overwhelming at first. I’ve worked with concepts like descriptive statistics, probability, hypothesis testing, t-tests, ANOVA, regression, and interpreting statistical output (including SPSS). I focus on breaking things down step-by-step and helping students build confidence, not just get through one assignment. My goal is always to make statistics feel logical and manageable — and even a little empowering once it clicks!
Writing

Writing

I have a strong background in writing and research through my training in psychology and the social sciences, where clear, structured communication is essential. I’ve spent years helping students strengthen their writing by breaking down grammar, sentence structure, organization, and vocabulary in ways that feel manageable and confidence-building. With younger students, I focus on building strong foundations — clear sentence construction, paragraph organization, reading comprehension strategies, and expanding vocabulary — while keeping lessons engaging and supportive. My goal is to help students not only improve their skills, but also feel more confident expressing their ideas in writing.
