About Kyle

Bio

I have been teaching for 21 years at the elementary level in the State of Hawaii Public school system. Prior to teaching in Hawaii, I spent 3 years teaching English in a Japanese high school on the JET Program. I am a graduate of Iolani School.

I am also a devoted husband and father of three children, ages 13, 11 and 8. I have enjoyed the opportunities to work with students to help them succeed in different academic areas as well as infuse life lessons from my experiences.

I coached baseball at the intermediate level for 3 years as well as played since I was 9. I was head coach for 3 years at Pony level 13-14 years old and played adult leagues for 5 years before getting old.

I am actively teaching common core and preparing for the SBAC which tests students knowledge of the content. Also have been in trainings for the past two years leading up to this change.

Great tutor

Kyle and my son turned out to be a good fit thus far. He's had only two lessons but feedback from my son has been positive. I believe Kyle will help my son gain more confidence in Algebra and prepare him well for finals. I only wish I had found Kyle sooner.
