Online English/ESL Teacher

Hello. My name is Ron. I was born in Chicago, but I currently live in Hawaii. I am an American English speaker. I have taught English/ESL for over fifteen years and over five years for online English/ESL schools. I have worked at public schools (elementary, middle and high schools), adult schools and English language schools. I hold a Master's degree in English, teaching licenses in English/ESL, and a TESL certificate.

I have worked as a Reading Coach at elementary schools. I have taught students how to read with lesson plans that focused on phonemic awareness, phonics, and reading fluency. Using the Whole Language approach, not only did students learn how to read, but they also learned how to spell and write at the same time! I have taught literature and essay writing to middle and high school students to help them get better grades in English/ESL classes and prepare them for exams (high school entrance exams for middle school students and SAT exams for high school students). I have used lesson plans that focused on vocabulary, grammar, and reading comprehension. Middle and high school students wrote essays based on the books they read.

At adult schools and English language schools, I have helped students improve their reading, writing and communication skills for work, the citizenship test or their own interest. I have used lesson plans that focused on phonemic awareness, phonics, grammar, vocabulary, and reading fluency/comprehension. I used these same lesson plans for online students (elementary, middle and high school) and adults.
