I'm Troy! I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelors degree in Political Science. After college I found a tutoring job and fell in love with working with students and helping them succeed. I loved seeing students grow and find confidence in their learning and strive towards creating lifelong learners. This led me down the path of attaining my teaching license and eventually a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction, further refining my craft.

I always strive to create engaging experiences in the classroom that feel authentic and provide opportunities for students to contribute from their own background and culture while developing into independent critical thinkers. I strive to create a positive community while maintaining rigorous standards and expectations of my
students. I feel that my experiences working with a wide variety of students over the past four years, as well as my ability to create an accepting and positive classroom environment allows me to be prepared to support students where they are at and help them reach their goals.

I've been a classroom teacher for the past 3 years, working with middle school students specifically in history, social sciences, and study skills. During my time being a tutor, I supported students in English, Math, Science, Social Sciences, and study skills in 1:1 and small group instruction. I aim to provide students the tools and environment they need to be successful and therefore am also open to feedback, outside resource, or creative alternatives to learning.
