For the past 18 years, I have dedicated myself to helping middle school, high school, and college students master math, science, and Spanish. My one-on-one tutoring journey began in high school when I helped my peers ace AP Chemistry, and I have since expanded my expertise to higher-level STEM classes. I am currently completing my B.S. in Biochemistry at Arizona State University, which gives me a deep understanding to tutor advanced subjects up to Calculus 3 and college-level chemistry, including Organic and Physical Chemistry. Additionally, as a native speaker, I offer fluent Spanish tutoring. I truly love using my skills to bring confidence to students who are struggling.
My qualifications stem from extensive, hands-on experience and specialized training. I scored 5s on my own AP Chemistry and Calculus BC exams and completed a College Board seminar for AP Chemistry educators. I use this rigorous background to specialize in the Math and Science sections of the SAT and ACT, teaching strategies that apply to many standardized tests. Furthermore, I spent three years working in the specialized support department at a private school. There, I worked closely with students who have learning differences, providing the tailored support they needed to succeed in complex classes.
My teaching philosophy is highly adaptable because I know no two students learn the exact same way. If an explanation is not clicking, I pivot in the moment. I focus on breaking complex subjects down to their simplest foundational concepts and connecting new, intimidating material to methods the student is already familiar with. When I am not balancing chemical equations, I am an avid movie buff who loves traveling and seeking out new adventures. I look forward to bringing my patience, experience, and adaptable methods to our sessions to help you achieve your academic goals!
