Hello! My name is Ben, and I'm a Vanderbilt University graduate with a passion for helping students tell compelling stories through their college applications.
My journey to Vanderbilt wasn't straightforward. I applied to college over three different application cycles: as a high school senior, after a postgraduate year at boarding school, and again as a transfer student. Along the way, I applied to more than 40 colleges and visited over 60 campuses.
On paper, I wasn't a typical applicant for highly selective schools. I graduated high school with a 3.3 GPA and a 1300 SAT. Rather than trying to hide those weaknesses, I learned how to turn them into strengths by crafting authentic, persuasive essays that showcased my experiences, character, and potential. That approach helped me earn admission to schools including Vanderbilt University, Pepperdine University, the University of Miami, and American University.
Through this process, I discovered that strong storytelling can make a meaningful difference. I've written hundreds of pages of admissions essays, including Common App essays, supplemental essays, transfer essays, and personal statements, and I genuinely enjoy helping students find the stories that make them stand out.
